Pearls have definitely withstood the test of time, but how we view them seems to be changing.  With all of the new pearl jewelry trends out there, pearls are no longer just for your grandma and prepsters.  Gone are the days when you only see pearls on a housewife slaving over dinner in her freshly pressed fit and flare dress or the preppy country club lady enjoying an afternoon of bridge.  They are being worn in every way!  With so many options from ear cuffs, to chokers, to oversized and all over accessories, you can play the trend up or down by staying classic or pairing them with grunge and style looks.

I styled my Chanel pearls and a smaller strand from The Pearl Source to create this retro sixties vibe.  I cannot tell you how glad I am that I have a Chanel long strand in my wardrobe. I reach for it all of the time! Even more, I am glad that I  have this classic strand from The Pearl Source, because it will always stand the test of time and can be styled so many ways.   Pearls are one of those pieces of jewelry, that when real, can be rather affordable (yay).  As you can see above, I am far from the preppy sweater vest gal adorned with a strand of grandma’s pearls. xo
