Hi Everyone! This is Chelsea, Angie’s assistant. The Holiday season is now in full force which means it’s almost time for those beloved holiday parties. I love holiday parties (mostly because I live for events that I get to get all fancy and dressed up for) and whether it’s a corporate gathering or a party with loved ones- chances are you want to be the hottest one there… which is why I’ve put together a couple looks to best accentuate and dress those curves.

When it comes to dressing curves there are 2 things I like to keep in mind, structure and comfort; and guess what it’s totally possible to look great and be comfortable at the same time. As far as fabrics what you want to look for are pieces that have a slight stretch to them, this will ensure proper fitment on your curves without any weird pulling or snagging. When it comes to structure I personally love pieces that fit snug around the body or come in at the waist. If you have a piece that doesn’t really have much form to it- layer a fitted jacket on top and you instantly have added structure and shape to your look. Now let’s get started with the looks I put together. I tried putting together 3 looks that would best accentuate different styles

Classic: For this classic holiday  look. I wanted to to have a very classic color scheme. You can never go wrong with red, white, and black. A white collared top layered with this red topshop dress makes for a very festive look. I then played up the outfit by adding a touch of gold, crystal stud earrings, and a textured pump. This Topshop red dress hugs  in all the right places making it perfect for dressing curves and by adding the right accessories it makes this $48 piece look much more expensive than it really is.

Vixen: For the Vixen look it was really important to keep a balance between classic and sexy; and these mini Helmut Lang (which is surprisingly affordable- under $200) and Christopher Kane dresses fit the bill. Because these dresses are a statement enough for me I didn’t add  much accessories but you are more than welcome to add a fun earring, cocktail ring, or necklace. I then finished both the looks with a sexy pair of pumps that will make you look like you have legs for days and you’re ready for your night out.

Edgy: Lastly, for this edgy look I had initially picked out this green leather jacket. I loved the unique color and  the  slim and sleek fit and at 55% off I knew it was a winner. Because of the fit its going to look great  paired over a dress. When I came upon this gold wrap dress I knew it was what I wanted to pair it with. Wrap dresses are extremely comfortable and really help with accentuating curves. I then finished the look with some oxblood booties and a nude lip.

I hope you enjoyed these different looks and tips on dressing curves for your next holiday party. Stay tuned for the New Year’s Eve party edition.

Love the edgy look you have here! As someone with curves (and a booty!) I always struggle with wearing more form fitting clothes. Love a good cinched waist and the metallic gold. xx
