Today I am focusing on a real fashion problem we’re having here in Utah right now. Unfortunately, the weather has not caught up to the season, but who still wants to wear flip flops?! With the thermostat flipping between hell fire and meat locker, most of us are feeling fashionably challenged. So today I am tacking what to wear when fall temperatures rise!

Crochet Lace Peplum Top (similar style) | Madewell Arroyo Denim Button Up Mini Skirt | Chloe Black Pixie Bag | Charlotte Tilbury Secret Salma Lipstick | Eye Buy Direct Swift Sunglasses | Hermes Oran Sandals

In order to give my warmer weather look a fall feel, I paired my two tone Madewell denim skirt with a Zara lace peasant top that is a bit  heavier than your typical summer top.  As long as one of your pieces has fall characteristics it makes the entire look more seasonally appropriate. Also, I purposely chose to wear my Hermes black leather sandals and instead of my white foam platform slides I sported all summer long. Leather accents lend to that fall feeling as well.

Other ideas on what to wear when fall temperatures rise

  • Replace sandals with over the knee boots and you can still wear some of your favorite spring/summer dresses
  • Drape a blazer/cardigan over your tank top or tee shirt or throw on a scarf
  • Dressing up? Dry a blazer with your favorite dressy shorts or shirt
  • The more booties and loafers the better
  • Throw on a fedora of felt hat to instantly give your look an autumn update

Friends, I absolutely love my Charlotte Tilbury makeup items. Above I am wearing Charlotte’s Secret Salma lipstick (inspired by Salma Hayek).  This color is gorgeous on olive AND cool toned skin.  With my brown eyes and olive skin I tend to pull really warm. A fellow blogger and friend (So Heather) wears it all the time with her gorgeous blue eyes and cool blonde hair and it looks great on her too. Anyone can wear this shade!

If your city is like mine, it’s highly confused right now. Hopefully you’re now prepared to tackle the bipolar season with this brief what to wear when fall temperatures rise tutorial.  For more ideas check out another fall transitional outfit I styled here.

Have a lovely week! xoxo
